Research

The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Lung Vascular Research brings together multidisciplinary basic research and clinically and scientifically oriented groups. The research program focuses on pulmonary vascular remodeling and will uncover underlying molecular pathways, identify different targets for vasodilator and reverse remodeling therapy, promote drug development based on these targets, and these new treatment options in proof-of-concept studies testing. This setting offers the unique opportunity for a direct transfer of knowledge that results from the discovery of new signaling pathways in preclinical and clinical studies: “from molecules to patients and back”.
